| Eng Electronics, ACM Member Richard is Head of the School of Software at the Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology at UTS. He has 25 years experience in systems development as a software engineer and consultant in industry and as an academic developing and delivering system engineering courses. His research interests include system architecture, data and systems integration, usercentred systems development, knowledge management and educational issues related to delivery and assessment of large group project subjects. As an academic head he provides leadership in educational and curriculum development and conducts research in knowledge management systems. Since 1998 he has coordinated a large capstone groupwork project subject and has developed innovative methods of assessing individual contributions of team members. In 2005 Richard received a Faculty ITED grant for his group contribution tracking system - TeCTra. Subsequently, he received a 2006 Carrick Priority Project Grant ‘Supporting self and peer assessment’ of which he is a co-leader. Currently he is involved in exploring applications of mobile learning in higher education. His classroom interaction system mInteract is now being trialled in large lectures across UTS. |
